How to use your vape kit

Vaping kits are designed to be simple to use. Most are plug-and-play and all you have to do is unpack the device, press the button to start the kit, and then inhale. Some brands, like the Elf Bar 1000 are ready to vape right out of the pack.

There are a few tips, however, to keep in mind to move from beginner to expert vaper. Here are the most important to get you started:

• Know your kit! There are a couple of basic types, so read up on them first (see below). If you are unsure, choose a prefilled, disposable starter kit first.
• Leave a little time between puffs to let the vape juice absorb into the coil. If you don’t, you will shorten the life of your coil.
• Experiment with smaller, cheaper kits first until you know which flavours you like. Then you can invest in a more advanced kit and buy larger amounts of e-juice.
• When you are refilling the tank on your pod vape kit, put a few drops on the cotton centre of the mesh coil to avoid burning on the first few puffs.

Know your vape kits

There are three main terms to look out for.

• Prefilled disposable starter kits. This type is excellent to begin your vaping journey.
• Mouth-to-lung (MTL) kits. These have a higher Ohm resistance to give a tighter draw more like a cigarette.
• Direct-to-lung (DTL) and restricted-direct-to-lung (RDTL). Both of these have lower Ohm resistance allowing the vapour to enter the lung directly without requiring a heavy draw from the user.
